Laura Mulligan is a full-time artist working in a studio in the Dublin mountains. Her expressive paintings are full of movement, and as a colourist she uses a vibrant and intense palette. Her signature Firedancer paintings illustrate this perfectly.
She draws her inspiration from the desire to commit to canvas the essence of a mood, a feeling, or a fleeting moment, and from the wild landscapes of Ireland and other countries, such as Morocco, France and Mexico. While Laura currently paints mainly in oils, she also uses mixed media such as acrylic and sand for her sandscapes.
After studying art in both Galway and Dublin, Laura went on to complete her first degree in psychology in University College Dublin with a thesis entitled "Art and the Intolerance of Ambiguity". After obtaining a Masters degree, she has worked full time in the art world.
